Synengco is the amalgamation of many great minds. Our team includes skilled engineers, software engineering developers, mathematicians, data scientists and industry experts. The dynamic traits of our staff are reflected in the adaptability of our software.
We pride ourselves on the desire to improve outcomes, ignited by dedication and passion.
Don founded Synengco in 2001, with the aim of systemising decision-making in dynamic industries to enhance resource sustainability. He believes it is important to ‘live well within our means’ – having a great standard of life whilst bettering our ecological footprint. Don has over 25 years of experience in operations and asset management in the power generation industry. His development of SentientSystem® for asset optimisation has seen both environmental and financial benefits for our customers.
Since 2002, Ryan has been an integral member of the Synengco team. He specialises in the deployment and integration of SentientSystem® into our clients existing systems. In Ryan’s 19 years at Synengco, he has successfully deployed and maintained SentientSystem® installations in power stations all over the world. Ryan is fascinated by the vast capabilities of remote, real-time monitoring and he enjoys the challenges that arise in integrating with existing systems and working in various IT environments.
Sam's 13 years at Synengco have seen him design and implement software solutions, manage projects, and conduct applied research in collaboration with universities and industry partners. Sam has completed his PhD on energy efficiency in the mining industry and he enjoys growing his understanding of industry problems, learning new solution techniques, and applying knowledge to add value to customer decisions.
Since 2005, Eddie has been a key member of the Synengco team. Beginning his career as an Electrical/ Control Systems Engineer, Eddie developed the experience and skillset to progress into Process/ Performance Engineering, where he provides expert advice to our thermal power station clients. Eddie enjoys being challenged across a wide range of engineering problems and providing rapid and useful responses to clients.
Since 2015, Talara has specialised in energy engineering and data science at Synengco. Within her role, she has been involved in a project that applied real time optimisation to a large power station, saving them millions of dollars and substantially reducing their environmental impact. Talara completed her PhD on solar cooling and thermal energy storage optimisation, where she now enjoys exploring thermodynamics and sustainable solutions.
Since 2017, Ed has specialised in asset performance engineering at Synengco. Having gained industry experience and understanding through his collaborations with thermal power stations, Ed applies this knowledge to different industrial plant types with minimal background insight, still maintaining quality recommendations to clients. He enjoys the originality of each engineering problem that he addresses and solves.
Romane specialises in energy and environmental engineering at Synengco. Since 2018, she has continued to discover new methods of detecting and correcting inefficiencies within our client’s systems. Romane enjoys being able to develop her data analysis and programming skills, which she applies to solutions for real-world issues. She is passionate towards reducing GHG emissions and optimising sustainability.
Since 2021, Andrew has specialised in software development at Synengco. He has an advanced software skillset, where prior to engagement at Synengco, his software was being utilised for 14 years for weekly corporate reporting. He is interested in the creativity of software development and its application to real-world issues. Andrew is determined to make processes easier and faster, creating interoperation between separate systems.
